Mat-Su Regional Medical Center joins Mayo Clinic Care Network

Mat-Su Regional Medical Center is the newest member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network – a select group of independent health systems that works closely with Mayo Clinic to improve the delivery of healthcare and better serve their patients and communities.
Through this formal relationship with the Mayo Clinic, Mat-Su Regional Medical Center providers can quickly access Mayo Clinic’s latest research, diagnostic and treatment resources whenever they feel it will benefit their patients. This means patients can benefit from these additional resources here in the community, close to home. There is no additional cost to patients and they can avoid unnecessary travel or inconvenience.
“This is terrific news for our community,” says Dave Wallace, chief executive of Mat-Su Regional Medical Center. “This collaboration with the Mayo Clinic empowers our medical staff to access the resources and expertise of one of the world’s most respected medical institutions. It’s a game-changer in terms of the level of care and medical knowledge available locally.”
The staff of Mat-Su Regional Medical Center will also will have access to Mayo Clinic’s library of patient education materials as well as professional development opportunities and continuing medical education programs.

Mat-Su Regional is undertaking a campus expansion that will increase the capacity for providing more services, Wallace notes. Among the projects is the addition of a 36-bed inpatient behavioral health and substance abuse treatment facility and increasing the size of the hospital emergency department. Construction of a new medical office building on the campus is also near completion.
“We are in the midst of an exciting period of growth that will positively impact the level of care and the medical services we provide our community,” Wallace adds. “The Mayo collaboration is the perfect complement to the physical growth on our campus.”
Mayo Clinic developed the first integrated, multispecialty group practice more than 150 years ago. Today, Mayo Clinic is the largest nonprofit group practice in the world, serving about 1.3 million patients annually. Mayo Clinic health care providers from every medical specialty work together to advance medical knowledge through research and education, and apply that knowledge to patient care.
