Anchorage, Alaska – Mountain-Pacific Quality Health is proud to announce the winners of the 2013 Hospital Quality Awards. This is the eighth year running for these awards, which recognize Alaska hospitals for their dedication to ensuring that patients receive high quality care in the areas of heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, and surgical infection prevention. These four measure sets are computed into one composite score known as the Appropriate Care Measure (ACM). This score is one of three decisive factors used to determine the award winners. Additionally, each hospital must have a presence on Hospital Compare and also participate in the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS). The two award options and criteria are:
