The intensive care unit (ICU) at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center provides continuous monitoring and treatment of critically ill patients. Because patients in the ICU require specialized care, visitors should understand that their visit might be interrupted or cut short based on the needs of the patient and our doctors.
Our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has a total of 14 private rooms, each with cable TV and a private bath. We also offer a private shower area. Patients and their family members have access to room service, and meals may be enjoyed in the patients' rooms.
The ICU nurses caring for our patients at Mat-Su Medical Center have the highest percentage of critical care nursing specialty certifications in the Southcentral area. This national certification is known as Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN or PCCN). In addition, all of the nurses carry certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
During a patient's hospital stay, he or she will have a critical care team providing care. This team may be comprised of an Intensivist, Registered Nurses, ICU Technicians, Physical Therapist, Pharmacist, Clinical Social Worker, Respiratory Therapist, and your admitting physician.
