Admitting
ADMISSIONS - Why Pre-Register?
- Pre-registering will decrease your wait time on the day of your service.
- You will be informed of your financial responsibilities and offered financial arrangements prior to your service.
- You will learn what you need to bring at time of service (insurance card, Advance Directives, payment if previously arranged).
- By pre-registering, you will have less to worry about the day of your service.
When pre-registered you will still need to stop by the registration desk on the day of your service to sign your consent to treat form.
Prior Authorization/Non-covered Services
Depending on your insurance, services ordered may require prior authorization. Failure to do so may result in non-payment for services rendered. Please contact your insurance company to ensure services are covered and authorized.
Please bring the following to ensure that the registration process will flow smoothly:
- Picture ID
- Physician orders for any test
- Insurance Card
- Optional: Living will or Durable Power of Attorney if you are arriving for inpatient services and/or surgery
Registration For Services
During the registration process, you will be asked to provide personal information such as name, address, social security number, and insurance information if applicable. You will be asked to present your insurance card so that Mat-Su Regional can make a copy of it to ensure correct billing. Please remember that your health coverage is an agreement between you and your insurance carrier, and you are responsible for fulfilling your portion of the terms. We require deductibles and co pays be paid at the time of service. If you are not able to pay in full at time of service, we require a deposit or partial payment and request that you contact our financial counselor prior to your scheduled service.
We have pre-registration clerks available to pre-register you prior to your service. You may register by phone or in person to pre-register for your service.
If your insurance carrier requires prior authorization for treatment, please obtain written approval before your admission. Admission personnel will ask you to sign an authorization form. This form provides consent to treat and authorized release of billing data and assignment of benefits to Mat-Su Regional.
Your Financial Responsibility
Mat-Su Regional staff will bill your insurance and we request any applicable deductible or co-insurance payments at the time of service. All elective procedures require payment in full prior to time of service.
If Mat-Su Regional does not receive payment from your insurance carrier within 45 days of billing, Mat-Su Regional will request that you contact your insurance carrier to facilitate immediate payment. After 90 days, full payment is your responsibility.
Financial Counselors are available to assist with medical means, charity care, HELP Loan Program, Medicaid applications, and payment options. If you are unable to meet your financial obligation please contact the Financial Counselor prior to your scheduled service.
